We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team operating within the manufacturing industry, based in Beachwood, Ohio. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. As a Data Engineer, you will be tasked with the development and maintenance of databases, ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud technologies, and the implementation of algorithms.
Responsibilities:
• Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems
• Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices
• Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts
• Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data
• Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production
• Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry systems together
• Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
• Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT team members on project goals
• Use Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and other AWS technologies for data extraction and handling
• Work with Qlik, Qlik Sense, QlikView, and Talend for data visualization and ETL processes.• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a Data Engineer role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficient in Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Cloud Technologies
• Solid understanding and experience with databases
• Knowledge of EO/IR systems and Algorithm Implementation
• Experience with analytics and Apache Hadoop
• Proven track record in API Development and AWS Technologies
• Familiarity with Qlik Sense, QlikView, and Qlik
• Proficiency in MySQL and MySQL Database
• Experience with Talend is a plus
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred
