We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountant in Palm Beach County. The role is integral to our team, focusing on developing costing methodology and standard costs for manufactured products. You will also design and develop cost and other accounting reports and analyze variances in costs.
Responsibilities:
• Develop costing methodology and standard costs for manufactured products
• Design and develop cost and other accounting reports using various software systems
• Analyze variances in costs, preparing monthly analysis of expense items to identify trends or unusual fluctuations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, reviewing and correcting discrepancies
• Interface with operational departments regularly, providing summaries of the financial impact of operations activities
• Assist department leaders and finance leaders in developing annual operating and capital expense budgets and monthly forecasts
• Conduct analysis of inventory accounts, reviewing and correcting variances
• Prepare and provide requested schedules to external auditors during interim reviews and year-end audits
• Assist in documenting policies, procedures, and controls for compliance
• Undertake special projects and assignments as needed.
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in SAP
• Understanding of various Accounting Functions.
• Knowledge of Cost - Process and Cost - Standard.
• Proficiency in Cost Accounting.
• Experience with COST-OF-GOODS.
• Understanding of Cost Variance.
• Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Knowledge of Prepaid Account management.
• Familiarity with Prepaid Assets and Prepaid Expense.
• Proficiency in Standard Cost Accounting.
• Understanding of Standard Costing and Standard Costs.
• Experience in Annual Standard Cost calculation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
