We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team based in Chesapeake, Virginia, in the Government Consulting industry. In this role, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that will require a keen eye for detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to manage various administrative tasks. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently and accurately process customer credit applications.
• Maintain precise records of customer credit.
• Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department.
• Accurately enter purchase orders into the accounting system.
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
• Record daily timekeeping data by job for payroll processing.
• Generate and audit job costing reports to ensure accuracy.
• Provide support with various accounting and administrative tasks as needed.• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role or in the field of accounting
• Knowledge and experience in handling Daily Mail, Job Cost, and Purchase Orders
• Proficient in using Smartphones for business communication and scheduling
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are necessary
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Familiarity with government consulting industry is an advantage
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must have legal right to work in the United States.
