We are extending an opportunity for a Controller in Sartell, Minnesota. This role is pivotal in our team, with tasks spanning from managing financial reporting to overseeing banking relationships. The role also involves managing an accounting clerk. This is a long-term contract position within the industry.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Supervise and guide an accounting clerk, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Oversee the operations of the treasury department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
• Take part in budget processes and assist in the preparation of the company's budget.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or related field
• Proficient in Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Auditing processes
• Knowledge of Budget Processes
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in Financial Reporting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• detail oriented certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
