We are searching for a meticulous individual to take up vital duties within our healthcare organization. The responsibilities of the Billing Specialist include but are not limited to:
- Handle insurance-related claims and data entry, ensuring precision in documentation and information transfer.
- Submit insurance claims efficiently, both electronically and manually.
- Address unpaid or rejected claims through persistent follow-up with insurance entities, solving issues, and facilitating resubmission.
- Act as a primary link between our organization, insurance companies, and provider representatives to ensure timely and appropriate settlement of claims.
- Communicate impactful payment or denial situations to the leadership team.
- Oversee outstanding accounts, analyze aging reports, and verify patient eligibility and coverage.
- Collaborate with field staff to gather additional information or clarify diagnoses for claim submissions.
Candidates applying to this position are required to have the following:
- Hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree or medical billing degree, and 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Be familiar with insurance and reimbursement processes, with a basic understanding of ICD 9 and CPT medical billing codes, and comprehensive knowledge of managed care authorizations and coverage limits.
- Appreciate and enforce HIPAA privacy requirements concerning patient data.
- Demonstrate a detail-oriented approach and efficiently prioritize tasks. Essential traits include excellent communication, follow-up skills, good mathematical abilities, and proficient data entry skills.
- Experience with Sycle Practice Management Software is desirable but not a prerequisite.
- Maintain strong proficiency in MS Office, general computing, and confidently use common office equipment.
