We are looking for an adept Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Youngstown, Ohio. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities centered around managing patient financial records, billing insurance claims, and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:
• Verify insurance coverage for patients and assess their ability to pay
• Handle the billing of claims and third-party insurance
• Maintain patient financial files and ensure their accuracy
• Identify problematic or uncollectible accounts and take necessary action
• Negotiate payment arrangements and secure financing of self-pay liability
• Track, monitor, and report on financial assessments of patients
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions
• Provide advice and information to patients, guarantors, and families about hospital financial policies
• Utilize various software systems including Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces for daily operations
• Perform other duties as needed to support the financial operations of the healthcare facility.

• Proficient in using EHR SYSTEM

• Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Appeals

• Demonstrated knowledge in Benefit Functions and Billing Functions

• Experience in Claim Administration

• Ability to work well in a team and individually

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
