Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our virtual school team in Michigan. As a Virtual School SLP, you will provide teletherapy services to students enrolled in our virtual school programs across Michigan. You will work remotely to assess, diagnose, and provide therapy to students with speech and language disorders, ensuring they receive the support needed to succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments and evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to students' specific needs and goals.
- Provide virtual therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques and strategies to improve communication skills, articulation, language comprehension, and fluency.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support students' speech and language development within the virtual learning environment.
- Monitor students' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers and parents on implementing strategies to facilitate speech and language development in virtual learning settings.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices, research, and trends in the field of speech-language pathology, particularly as they relate to virtual service delivery.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Michigan state license or eligibility for licensure as an SLP in Michigan.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an SLP, preferably in a school setting.
- Proficiency in using teletherapy platforms and technology for virtual service delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage caseloads efficiently, and maintain high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and student needs in a virtual learning environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continued learning in the field of speech-language pathology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing teletherapy services to students in a virtual school or remote setting.
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education laws and regulations in Michigan.
- Experience working with diverse populations and students with varying communication needs and abilities.
- Knowledge of additional languages or proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus.
