FAI Quality Engineer

Identify and manage risk in the manufacturing process.
Carry out First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in support of Industrial Validation plans ensuring that Manufacturing and related processes are applied across their manufacturing processes.
Preparation of First Article Inspections applying electronic software to balloon the drawing through the analysis of the manufacturing data pack and understanding of the associated processes, gathering all the necessary information required to include in the FAIR package.
Delivery of the First Article Inspection package to manufacturing to record characteristics from the drawing and for manufacturing to witness and validate the accuracy and tooling applied to record the actuals.
Identification of non-conformances and areas for improvement during the FAI process ensuring the relevant supervisors are made aware and understand the issues.
Compliance of AS9102C form, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) using electronic software detail findings from FAI conducted.
Team of the status and open actions to drive closure.
Author Quality Inspection Plans for parts - determine key characteristics, generate a plan, develop inspection process, and create inspection work Instructions when needed.
Point of contact to resolve technical quality issues with the suppliers Ensure full containment of all quality-related issues is conducted both internally and at associated sites and suppliers promptly.
Create quality inspection plans for suppliers experiencing a high rate of failures.
Facilitate and lead a cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause, and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure, and leading Corrective Action Boards
Verify product and process compliance concerning the contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, and customer’s internal policies.
Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
Daily status meetings with the factory support, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage the quality issue.
Work Experience
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 2 years of experience OR
In the absence of a degree, 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, or related areas
Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
Experience with industry certifications (AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001
Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) is preferred.
