Sr Quality Engineer CAB– Aero Engine

Work Location: Base/Reporting Location: Windsor, CT - time may be spent traveling to and/or onsite at client location
Work Experience:
· BSME or equivalent technical degree
· 10+ years relevant experience in Quality / Manufacturing / Industrial / Supply Chain Engineering
· 5+ years in the Aerospace & Defense Industry preferred.
· Other Quality Certifications - noteworthy
Industry: Aero-Engine (i.e. gas turbine / turbomachinery)
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Establishing, investigating, analyzing, verifying, assuring, and sustaining part/process quality (OEM, Supplier, MRO) stemming from your broad technical experience (MRL – including MSA, PPAP, FAI, etc) across the Product Life Cycle coupled with an array of industry recognized quality tools (skills) – and applying that appropriately and thoroughly, and timely.
· Solicit process data and use formal 8D, DMAIC, Red X, DoE etc. RCA type tools to lead/review product and/or process improvements projects aimed at reducing COPQ.
· Lead/Conduct on-site Part or Process Audits – requiring Industry/customer certifications.
· QE’s execute work (services) in any/all of the following Quality functions:
o Quality Management System (QMS)
o Part & Process Qualification / Verification
o Non-Conforming Material
o Continuous Improvement / Development
· Provide technical work review / training / mentorship / support to team co-members.
· Engage with customer, customer’s suppliers, et al in a competent, technical, and professional manner (SME/PoC/Lead).
· Support business growth (supporting quoting, generate white papers, interviewing, etc)
Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
· Product Life Cycle experience with complex mechanical components/assemblies/products - aero/marine/industrial gas turbine preferred.
· Ability to establish/interpret/review quality requirements.
· Familiarity with AS9100-D, AS13100, AS9145, AS9110, AS6081, ISO 9001-2015, FAA/FARs, DCMA/DoD
· Capable of reading technical drawings utilizing GD&T
· Knowledge of modern high tech manufacturing processes (metal, composites, coatings)
· Inspection planning, gage calibration, R&R studies
· Leading / Reviewing PPAP / MRL elements; FAI
· Conducting QE activities tied to Supplier selection, NPI launches, Transitions, Supplier Auditing, Training/Development initiatives.
· Evaluating non-conforming material, product recall, MRB, RC-CA
· Presenting technical data/results to customer and regulatory representatives
· Advanced MS office tools (Excel – pivot, charts, lookups, macros; PowerPoint - tech presentations, training; Word – procedural writing). Data reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik, etc)
· Electronic MRP / SW / WI systems (input/mining/extracting/analyzing)
· Statistical based tools, sampling, analysis, metrics (Minitab, etc)
· Developing/mentoring less experienced engineers
· Establish/build customer relations – create sustained customer champions

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
· Office and/or Shop Floor Environments

· Typically includes substantial amounts of computer work – but can also include hands-on activities (e.g. lifting, inspecting, transporting, etc)
· Heavily Regulated Industry with strict adherence to procedures and standard work
· Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, Opportunity for OT
· Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
· Full-Time salary role (40hr/wk) w/ company benefits and paid OT for customer funded work
· Shift: M-F flexible without compromise to our customer’s needs. Unpaid Lunch.
