Job Title: Finance (A/P) Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid - Atlanta, GA 30334
Pay Rate: $50 - $75 per hour

Position Description:

The Finance (A/P) Business Analyst will provide functional support for the State Financials system, with a focus on accounts payable, procurement, and other finance-related modules in an ERP platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with functional and technical developer teams, leveraging expertise in accounts payable, reporting, budgeting processes, and accounting considerations to design and configure systems that maximize benefits for customers. The role requires independent and collaborative work with business owners and subject matter experts to refine business requirements, create functional designs, and support full lifecycle development processes. A commitment to customer service excellence, competence, and professionalism is essential.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyze information to determine the nature and extent of customer requirements and concerns
• Change system configurations to address business needs, regulatory requirements, or other functional or legislative requirements
• Test configurations to ensure alignment with requirements
• Assist in developing and delivering training materials
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure business processes are effective and efficient
• Develop and execute change management plans for transitioning to new systems
• Consult with technical and business staff to ensure functionality aligns with laws, regulations, and best practices
• Test or coordinate the testing of new functionalities
• Develop standards and procedures for new systems or enhancements
• Evaluate new technologies, enhancements, or solutions to improve service and system efficiency
• Research and analyze system/user problems using analytical and research techniques
• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements
• Update relevant training materials related to the ERP platform

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ERP financial modules such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or others
• Experience in local, state, or county government or other public sector entities
• Ability to write and interpret functional and business requirements for application design
• Ability to develop detailed functional designs and seek innovative approaches to improve financial accounting and reporting solutions
