Devonshire Recruiting & Consulting Partners is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Desktop Support Technician to join our client’s IT team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our client’s computing environment by providing comprehensive technical support to end-users. Responsibilities:
- Provide system administration for file, print, e-mail, and application servers in a Mac and Windows environment – utilizing both Active Directory and Exchange
- Maintain and support phones/Video Conference equipment
- Provide the initial point of contact for technical problems and perform troubleshooting tasks, problem diagnosis, resolution, or escalation
- Assist and independently deploy special projects and network implementations
- Responsible for providing technical support for the resolution or escalation of desktop, network, server, software, and/or workgroup-related problems
- Responsible for assisting all users with their questions about any of our supported software and systems to the best of his/her ability, in a professional and courteous manner
- Development of end-user documentation consisting of configuration, support information, and useful software/hardware tips.
- Perform other duties as needed
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 2+ years’ experience in an IT support role (desk side and phone)
- Previous work experience in a professional services or consulting environment preferred
- Proficiency in troubleshooting user technical issues on Windows (10 and 11) in an Active Directory environment; MAC-Support is highly preferred.
- Ability to deliver excellent end user support while remote
- Strong understanding of security best practices
- Proficiency with networking, DNS, user authentication, certificates, wired and wireless connectivity, file and folder permissions/ACLs
- Experience working with (and co-managing) Microsoft 365 permissions and setup
- Experience in the administration of SharePoint sites, including configuring and maintaining sites, and knowledge libraries (including lists, and workflows).
- Experience with VMWare or other remote access tools is desired
- Experience in managing and optimizing cloud environments (AWS or GCP), including monitoring workspaces and creation of workspaces.
- Ability to be on-call outside of normal business hours, and assist with urgent issues (or planned projects) during such times
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to follow up and follow through – this is important!
- Superb written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel (admin level to executive team).
