Our client is seeking a dynamic Internal Auditor (ESG) to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.  Expected starting base salary $120,000 to $140,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop strategies to mitigate ESG risks and maximize opportunities within operations.

• Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk Management Committee to review and address ESG risks.

• Document and recommend improvements to ESG policies and procedures.

• Evaluate process and controls documentation to identify gaps for various disclosures.

• Audit disclosure metrics for relevancy, accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.

• Maintain an inventory of disclosure requirements.

• Conduct SOX audits and audits of properties, corporate, and operational areas.

• Assist in developing risk-based audit plans.

• Prepare internal audit reports, make recommendations for internal control and process enhancements, and obtain management feedback.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards.

• Excellent analytical, written/verbal communication, and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to work independently, adapt to change quickly, multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment, be part of a team, and work with a variety of stakeholders.

• Initiative to address problems and make continuous process improvements.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.

• 5+ years of audit experience, with at least one year in ESG.

• 3+ years of SOX experience
