About us
Growing Interventional Pain Management Group looking to add a motivated medical assistant to the back-office team for our Tulsa location. This position performs a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service.
Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Rooming patients, documenting vitals and obtaining patient history
- Properly identify patients and correctly use phlebotomy methods (e.g. venipuncture, skin
puncture)
- Scribing for the assigned provider
- Checking PMP reports and drug screens
- Cleaning and stocking exam rooms
- Patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor
- Draw labs with the right venipuncture method and ensure optimal quality and quantity of
samples.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
-Completing prior authorizations
-Sending referrals/orders
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist
- Experience with effective puncture techniques
- Understanding proper patient identification methods
- Ability to us computers to enter information/efficient typing and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Diploma in Phlebotomy or extensive on-the-job training
- Diploma in Medical Assistant or on-the-job training
- Certification is not required
- Potential travel - 25%
