We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing medical technology company in Irving, Texas. This position plays an important role in strengthening the accounting function, improving financial reporting, and supporting a more scalable operating environment. The person in this role will partner closely with accounting leadership while contributing across core close activities, process enhancement efforts, and day-to-day financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Lead assigned areas of the general ledger by preparing reconciliations, recording journal entries, and maintaining accuracy across balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Contribute to monthly and annual close cycles by coordinating schedules, analyzing variances, and helping ensure timely financial reporting.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting analyses that provide clear insight into operating results, cash activity, and key accounting trends.
• Manage accounting for accruals, prepaid expenses, reserves, and other recurring entries in accordance with established accounting standards.
• Support the accounting workstream tied to the Infor LN implementation, including testing, validation, and alignment of system workflows with reporting needs.
• Evaluate existing procedures, recommend practical improvements, and help document policies that strengthen consistency and internal controls.
• Assist with daily accounting operations by reviewing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and transaction flow to preserve general ledger integrity.
• Participate in sales tax filings, inventory-related accounting activities, and reserve analysis as needed to support accurate compliance and reporting.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to entry-level accounting staff and serve as a dependable resource for process questions and issue resolution.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or operating company environment.
• Strong command of accrual-based accounting, including debits and credits, account analysis, and period-end close procedures.
• Experience preparing financial statements, journal entries, and detailed account reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of general ledger activity, prepaids, accruals, reserves, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ability to manage ownership of designated P& L and balance sheet accounts with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
• Exposure to ERP implementation or accounting systems enhancement projects is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus.
