About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing service-based organization headquartered on the northwest side of Indianapolis, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and delivering excellent internal customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely
• Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries
• Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain vendor records
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
• Ensure compliance with company policies and approval workflows
• Communicate with internal departments regarding invoice approvals and payment status

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience
• Experience processing a high volume of invoices
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Service industry experience preferred
• Experience with ERP/accounting software and Excel
• Process improvement mindset with a passion for leveraging systems and technology to drive efficiencies
• Ability to adapt quickly to new software and automated workflows
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
