We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a growing team in Ames, Iowa. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, billing, payroll, reconciliations, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on experience with Sage 300 CRE.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, billing, payroll, and accounts receivable activities.
• Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and financial transactions.
• Support month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and sales/use tax filings.
• Maintain accounting records, assist with audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing, customer service, and office support.

Qualifications

• Required: Recent hands-on experience with Sage 300 CRE/Timberline, Paychex and Intacct.
• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
