Job Title: Avionics Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on performing high-quality maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems on a diverse fleet of corporate aircraft in a fast-paced environment. You will work in accordance with FAA-approved technical data and certified repair station guidelines, ensuring all work is documented accurately and completed to rigorous safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on a variety of corporate aircraft, including Global Express, Gulfstream, Challenger, Citation and Phenom 300 aircraft, as well as King Air turboprops.
- Conduct aircraft maintenance in strict compliance with FAA-approved technical data and certified repair station procedures.
- Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and schematics to determine the feasibility and appropriate methods for repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Install, repair, and troubleshoot avionics systems, including wiring, instruments, and electronic components, using appropriate tools and calibrated testing equipment.
- Accurately complete all required maintenance documentation, work orders, return-to-service (RTS) paperwork, and other records to support airworthiness and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure meticulous attention to detail when preparing and submitting paperwork for aircraft release.
- Service, inspect, and maintain aircraft, aircraft engines, and associated components to meet established deadlines and performance goals.
- Communicate promptly and clearly with supervisors, leads, site representatives, and maintenance control (MCC) regarding any changes in aircraft status.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward productivity, safety, and quality maintenance, fostering effective working relationships with supervisors and team members.
- Navigate and operate effectively within a Service Hub or A.O.G. (Aircraft on Ground) environment, responding to urgent maintenance needs as required.
- Provide confident coverage of phones and maintenance communications when a supervisor is not present, ensuring continuous support for operations.
- Perform troubleshooting using a multimeter and other calibrated testing equipment to diagnose and resolve avionics and electrical issues.
- Carry out maintenance shop cleanup, organization, and basic office duties to maintain a safe, efficient, and orderly work area.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and Apple products to support documentation, communication, and reporting tasks.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience as an avionics technician installing, repairing, and troubleshooting aircraft avionics systems.
- Proficiency in avionics installation, including wiring, component mounting, and system integration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with avionics and aircraft systems, using multimeters and calibrated test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and schematics.
- Demonstrated capability to multi-task and follow directions in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
- Experience servicing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft, aircraft engines, and associated components.
- High level of accuracy and thoroughness in completing maintenance, work order, and RTS documentation.
- Effective communication skills for timely updates to supervisors, site representatives, and maintenance control.
- Positive, safety-focused attitude with a commitment to quality maintenance and meeting performance goals.
- Comfort working within Service Hub and A.O.G. environments to support time-sensitive aircraft operations.
- Ability to confidently handle phone and communication responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Apple software products for documentation and communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience working on any of the following aircraft models: Challenger 350, Challenger 650, Global 5000/6000, Phenom 300, Cessna Citation series, Gulfstream 450/550, and all King Air models.
- Familiarity with corporate and Fortune 100-level flight operations and maintenance standards.
- Experience working under certified repair station guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining a clean, orderly maintenance shop and managing basic office tasks.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and good team chemistry with supervisors and colleagues.
