Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on the mechanical assembly, deburring, detailing, and testing of standard, special, and custom accumulators in a production manufacturing environment. You will work from drawings, parts lists, specifications, and instruction manuals to build and inspect products, using hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and basic shop math. The position also supports final operations such as painting, rust prevention, packing, and crating, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform deburring, detailing, and mechanical assembly of standard, special, and custom accumulators according to drawings, parts lists, specifications, and instruction manuals.
- Assemble and test accumulators, ensuring all components meet quality and performance requirements.
- Assist with detailing, assembly, and testing activities as needed to support production demands.
- Complete, review, and file inspection and test reports accurately and on time.
- Use a variety of inspection tools and gauges, interpreting measurements and results for various applications.
- Apply basic shop mathematics to support accurate measurements, fits, and assembly work.
- Maintain all tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment in proper working condition and promptly report any malfunctions or issues.
- Perform or assist with product final operations, including painting, rust prevention, packing, and crating.
- Use hand and power tools, including air tools, to assemble mechanical components safely and efficiently.
- Measure and verify parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Follow written and verbal instructions to complete production tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support wiring or related tasks as required for specific assemblies.
- Work effectively in an assembly line or production environment, contributing to team output and meeting production schedules.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and use of lift assistance for heavier items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
Essential Skills
- Approximately 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Around 1 year of mechanical assembly experience in a production or similar setting.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and parts lists.
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes and production workflows.
- Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
- Ability to use inspection tools and gauges and interpret measurement results.
- Basic shop mathematics skills to support accurate measuring and assembly.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly, with lift assistance required for 41 pounds or more.
- Comfort working with air guns and other powered assembly tools.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with proof required upon submission.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in an assembly line or high-volume production environment.
- Work history in carpentry, construction, or similar hands-on mechanical work.
- Experience with wiring or basic electrical connections in an assembly context.
- Familiarity with rust prevention, painting, packing, and crating processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
