Special Education Teacher – East Orange, NJ | 2026–2027 School Year

We're hiring 20 Special Education Teachers for the East Orange School District for the 2026–2027 school year. Join a supportive team working in self-contained classrooms serving students across grades K–12.

Position Details:

• Full-time, onsite position
• September 3, 2026 – June 23, 2027
• 32.5 hours/week (6.5-hour days)
• One school assignment
• Self-contained classroom settings

• Compensation Range - $35/hr - $55/hr ( Based on experience, qualifications and caseload)

• Openings in:
  • Cognitive Impairments (CI)
  • Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI)
  • Learning Disabilities (Cross-Categorical)
  • Moderately Cognitively Impaired (MCI)
  • Autism (ASD Levels 1, 2 & 3)

Qualifications:

• Valid NJ TOH or TOSD endorsement
• Appropriate NJ teaching certification for the assigned grade level and/or subject area
• Special Education classroom experience preferred
• Strong collaboration and classroom management skills

Additional Information:

• District uses Frontline for IEPs
• Case managers and LDTCs provide IEP support
• Please be prepared to share your preferred caseload, IEP platform experience, certifications, and commute to East Orange
