We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Germantown, Wisconsin. This role supports core accounting operations, financial reporting, and cost analysis while helping maintain accurate records across multiple entities. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, a solid understanding of tax-related filings, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries while completing detailed account reconciliations for areas such as cash, prepaids, accruals, and payroll.
• Support monthly and annual closing activities by helping ensure financial data is recorded accurately and reports are delivered on schedule.
• Produce recurring financial statements for subsidiaries and affiliated entities, verifying completeness and consistency across records.
• Analyze manufacturing and operating cost trends by tracking unit cost variances and helping establish material and labor cost standards.
• Develop cost of goods sold analyses and production-related reporting to support operational and financial decision-making.
• Track capital spending activity, maintain fixed asset records, and reconcile related balances to the general ledger.
• Oversee corporate credit card administration, including account monitoring and employee expense reimbursement review.
• Prepare periodic bank reporting, assist with required tax filings such as annual 1099s, and contribute to audit support and other special projects as needed.• Experience in staff accounting with hands-on responsibility for journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Working knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and related financial compliance requirements.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Familiarity with cost accounting concepts, including variance analysis, standard costing, and cost of goods sold reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies effectively.
• Proficiency in managing multiple priorities, responding to ad hoc reporting needs, and meeting established deadlines.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, address vendor-related questions, and assist with audit requests.
