Job Title: Assembly Lead
Job Description
The Assembly Lead oversees daily operations in the core assembly area, guiding a team of 5–10 assemblers to complete mechanical assemblies safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role focuses on coordinating workflow, tracking production times, and supporting continuous improvement while working closely with the supervisor and manager to ensure the team meets established performance and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5–10 assemblers in the core assembly area to complete mechanical assemblies according to production requirements.
- Coordinate and organize daily work assignments to maintain an efficient and consistent flow of operations.
- Track production times and monitor progress to ensure schedules and deadlines are met.
- Support the supervisor and manager by communicating team performance, production issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Promote and uphold quality standards throughout the assembly process, ensuring work meets company specifications and expectations.
- Provide hands-on support with mechanical assembly tasks as needed to keep production on track.
- Assist in training and guiding team members on assembly procedures, best practices, and safety requirements.
- Help identify and address bottlenecks or issues that may impact productivity or quality in the assembly area.
- Encourage a safe and organized work environment by following and reinforcing safety protocols and shop procedures.
- Collaborate with leadership to support new product initiatives, including radiators for data centers, as business needs evolve.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of mechanical assembly experience in a production or shop environment.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience leading or supervising a small team in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to pass a math test to support accurate measurements, calculations, and production tracking.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mechanical assembly.
- Proven ability to coordinate workflow and maintain production schedules.
- Effective leadership and communication skills to guide, motivate, and support a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and managers to achieve operational goals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in an assembly and fabrication shop environment.
- History in mechanical assembly involving complex or large components.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and train team members on processes and best practices.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with evolving product lines, such as radiators for data centers.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address production issues.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities within the assembly area.

Work Environment
This role is based in an assembly and fabrication shop environment. The position operates on structured shifts, including a second shift from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The facility is not temperature controlled, and it can become hot during the summer months, so candidates should be comfortable working in varying temperatures typical of a shop setting. The role reports to the Assembly Supervisor and involves frequent interaction with shop-floor personnel and leadership while working around mechanical equipment, tools, and production lines.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
