Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting, direct hire placement of accounting and finance professionals, is recruiting to fill an Administrative role, supporting a sophisticated tax group in a family office. The person in this role should have tax support experience. Day to day the role includes assisting the Tax Team with servicing high-net worth clients including administration of compliance functions and tax compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Managing and maintaining the tax calendar for the tax team and assisting with workflow management
• Processing tax returns, electronically filing returns, and tracking acceptance
• Initiating all tax payments on behalf of our clients with various taxing jurisdictions and saving confirmation of payments
• Updating bookkeeping for clients’ businesses including reviewing monthly bank statements and maintaining books
• Preparing various information tax returns including Form 1099-MISC, Form 1099-NEC, and Form 1098
• Proactively communicating with other tax team members on status of assignments and assistance needed
• Reviewing and organizing tax source documents for the preparation of individual, gift, fiduciary, corporation, and partnership tax returns
• Assisting with the preparation of individual tax returns as required
• Providing other support to the tax and accounting departments as needed
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
• Experience in public accounting preferred with exposure to individual tax returns.
Similar experience in a major bank trust accounting environment with fiduciary and individual tax responsibility
• Proficient with tax preparation software (CCH’s ProSystem fx preferred) and highly proficient in Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred but not required.
• Accounting or similar paraprofessional experience preferred

• Prior exposure to public accounting or a trust accounting environment with work involving individual and fiduciary tax matters is preferred.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software, with experience using ProSystem fx viewed favorably.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, along with practical skills in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred, though comparable relevant experience will also be considered.
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to accuracy, deadlines, and follow-through.
• Ability to handle confidential client information with discretion while delivering a high level of client service.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the flexibility to contribute across functions in a small office environment.
