Senior Attorney
Senior Attorney - Employment & Class Action Litigation (Wage & Hour)

Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Attorney to lead complex labor and employment matters, with an emphasis on class action and PAGA litigation. The Senior Attorney will drive case strategy, manage litigation from intake through trial and appeal, supervise junior attorneys and support staff, and provide high-level client counseling on wage & hour and broader employment law issues. The role requires deep substantive knowledge of L&E law, strong courtroom experience, and proven success in handling multi-plaintiff and representative actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of litigation strategy for class actions, representative actions (including PAGA), and high-stakes individual employment matters.
- Manage all phases of litigation: intake, investigation, pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, trial, and appeals.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, briefs, declarations, and settlement documents with high-quality legal writing.
- Supervise, mentor, and review work of associates, paralegals, and legal support staff; provide training on litigation techniques and substantive L&E topics.
- Coordinate and manage discovery, including written discovery, depositions, expert discovery, and electronic discovery protocols.
- Advise clients on wage & hour compliance, classification, policies, and risk mitigation; counsel management on employment practices and remedial measures.
- Conduct legal research on complex wage, hour, and labor issues and integrate evolving statutory and case law (including PAGA) into litigation strategy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, opposing counsel, mediators, and experts; lead settlement discussions and mediation sessions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on case budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to meet client and firm objectives.
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and appellate matters; present oral argument and examine witnesses effectively.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to practice in California.
- Minimum of 5+ years of litigation experience, with substantial emphasis on labor & employment law and wage & hour matters.
- Demonstrated experience handling Employment Class Action lawsuits, including PAGA matters.
- Proven trial and courtroom experience with a track record of favorable outcomes in complex employment litigation.
- Deep substantive knowledge of wage & hour law, employment statutes, and labor law principles (L&E), including hands-on experience with wages, overtime, meal and rest break rules, and misclassification claims.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; experience drafting dispositive motions and appellate briefs.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior attorneys and support staff, and managing large litigation teams.
- Excellent client-facing skills, including client counseling, negotiation, and strategic problem solving.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority matters, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic discovery tools and litigation practice management software; commitment to professional development and staying current on evolving L&E law.
