Job Description
This Project Manager role leads the planning, execution, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of facilities, construction, capital improvement, and infrastructure projects. The position manages work ranging from small renovations and operational improvements to large-scale capital initiatives valued from approximately $50,000 to over $10 million. The Project Manager oversees projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. This role also mentors junior team members, drives continuous process improvement, and serves as a key escalation point for complex project and stakeholder challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from inception through planning, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout, ensuring all phases align with organizational objectives.
- Manage a portfolio of facilities, renovation, infrastructure, tenant improvement, and capital construction projects ranging from approximately $50K to $10M+.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining clear and consistent communication.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, leadership, consultants, contractors, and vendors to support successful project outcomes.
- Facilitate collaboration among all project participants to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.
- Mentor and support junior project managers and project team members, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development support.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and implementation strategies that reflect project requirements and constraints.
- Monitor project progress and performance against established milestones, adjusting plans as needed to keep projects on track.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address potential issues to minimize impacts on cost, schedule, and quality.
- Track project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, ensuring adherence to budgetary requirements.
- Develop and maintain cost forecasts, and review project cost reports, contracts, invoices, and change orders for accuracy and compliance.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet established standards and client expectations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality, safety, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes and operational efficiencies across projects and programs.
- Implement innovative project management methodologies and best practices to enhance project execution and reporting.
- Support organizational initiatives focused on improving project execution, reporting accuracy, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Interface directly with clients and their stakeholders, ensuring their requirements are understood, documented, and effectively delivered.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of design and construction project and program teams for light lab, infrastructure, and workplace projects.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of project management experience within the real estate or construction industry, including commercial construction or facilities projects.
- Proven experience managing facilities, renovation, infrastructure, tenant improvement, and capital construction projects.
- Experience working in critical or semiconductor research and development environments.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing directly with clients and their stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong financial acumen related to project budgets, cost control, and reporting.
