Job Title: Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic
Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for a mid-level Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic on first shift, with flexibility for a 4- or 5-day work week. You will service and maintain a diverse fleet of equipment and vehicles, including vans, trucks, cars, golf carts, forklifts, diesel trucks, and various shop machinery. The position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys troubleshooting and repairing equipment and takes pride in high-quality, reliable work.
Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of equipment, including Hyster and Doosan forklifts (5K, 10K, 15K, 20K, 30K), generators, rollback trucks, freightliners, Mercedes, MAC, Landoll trailers, chassis, and various trailers.
- Perform regular maintenance on vehicle and trailer chassis, including brakes, lights, and related systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems, including inspection, adjustment, and replacement of components as needed.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems, including replacement of hydraulic lines, check valves, and other hydraulic components.
- Maintain and repair electric and battery-operated equipment such as forklifts, golf carts, gators, and industrial cleaning equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of fork trucks, vehicles, and production equipment, including scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
- Repair and maintain shop equipment such as paint pumps, rivet guns, and other production and maintenance tools.
- Use a full range of hand tools and power tools to perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
- Perform welding and fabrication work to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and components as needed
- Work in physically demanding conditions, including climbing on vehicles and ladders, lifting heavy loads, and accessing tight spaces to complete repairs.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5+ years of gas or diesel engine maintenance experience or related fork truck or truck maintenance experience.
- Hands-on experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment, including forklifts, trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, air brake systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience performing regular maintenance on chassis, brakes, lights, and related vehicle systems.
- Ability to work on electric and battery-operated equipment, including forklifts, golf carts, gators, and cleaning equipment.
- Demonstrated maintenance aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills for complex equipment issues.
- Ability to use and maintain a full set of tools required for heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices for vehicles, fork trucks, and production equipment.
- Capability to read, understand, and follow maintenance procedures and safety guidelines.

Work Environment
The role is based on a first shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with regular opportunities for overtime. There is flexibility for a 4x10 schedule for those who prefer four 10-hour days. Work is physically demanding and involves climbing on vehicles and ladders, lifting heavy loads, and working in tight or confined spaces to access equipment components.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
