Responsibilities- Work on moderately complex intake assignments where sound judgment is required to resolve issues and make routine recommendations.
- Review referral contents to confirm that all required information is complete, accurate, and suitable for processing.
- Create accurate patient profiles from scanned or faxed images by entering correct patient and provider information into the system.
- Perform an initial check of prescriptions to ensure clinical accuracy and readiness for processing by other pharmacy teams.
- Communicate with providers by phone regarding referral status, prescription clarifications, missing information, and patient concerns to ensure all necessary details are obtained.
- Update clear and concise progress notes so that other roles within the workflow can quickly assess the status of each referral.
- Enter new provider information, including National Provider Identifier (NPI), accurately into the system to support reporting and analytics.
- Handle high-volume data entry for pharmacy and referral information while maintaining accuracy and speed.
- Work effectively in a call center environment, managing inbound and outbound calls related to referrals and prescription intake.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient intake process for patients and providers.
- Adapt to changes in processes, schedules, or priorities as needed to support business and patient needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy intake and verification operations.
Essential Skills- Current CPhT Certified Pharmacy Technician certification in good standing, with no restrictions.
- Current registration as a pharmacy technician with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP).
- Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting is required.
- 2+ years of pharmacy operations or pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience in a call center or high-volume phone environment.
- Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Competence in basic computer skills and comfort working with electronic systems and scanned or faxed documents.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work.
- Ability to effectively work with people and communicate clearly and professionally with providers and colleagues.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a large, rapidly growing specialty pharmacy setting with a structured call center and office environment. You will work Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with no weekend shifts and closure on major holidays. During the reverification period, the role is on-site Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. After the reverification project, the schedule transitions to an 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. shift, followed by a hybrid work model with approximately two days on-site and three days working from home.
