Job Title: Millwright MechanicJob DescriptionThe Millwright Mechanic plays a key role in comprehensive industrial and mechanical projects, focusing on the installation, maintenance, repair, and relocation of industrial machinery and equipment. This position aligns and replaces machine components, installs new equipment, and follows structured troubleshooting steps to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. The role also involves moving and relocating machinery on and off site, and serving as the first point of contact when equipment goes down to ensure minimal downtime and safe, efficient operation.
Responsibilities- Participate actively in the preventive maintenance program on all equipment to support continuous improvement of machine performance.
- Keep detailed, accurate maintenance reports and documentation for all work performed on machinery and equipment.
- Review and interpret complex engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine appropriate work procedures.
- Assemble and install new machinery, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and integration with existing systems.
- Install robots and program electronic controls to support automated industrial processes.
- Transfer equipment to designated maintenance areas or sites in a manner that avoids contamination and safety hazards.
- Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
- Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans and technical drawings.
- Act as the first point of contact with leadership when equipment goes down, coordinating response and repair activities.
- Visit various construction sites to assess potential mechanical or equipment-related problems and needs.
- Collaborate closely with construction workers and engineers to ensure safe and effective use of machinery on projects.
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance requirements at all times.
- Collect, organize, and store distinct machinery parts to maintain an efficient and orderly inventory.
- Sharpen and maintain machine tools to ensure optimal performance and precision.
- Use a wide range of hand tools, including measuring tools, welding and brazing equipment, to perform mechanical tasks.
- Operate hoists, dollies, rollers, trucks, and similar equipment to move and position machinery when needed.
- Disassemble and reassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing equipment to ensure proper operation after relocation.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment regularly to detect irregularities, malfunctions, or wear.
- Verify that operating safety devices function properly upon completion of repairs, modifications, and installations.
- Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area by cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on machinery.
Essential Skills- Hands-on experience in installing, repairing, and aligning industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and act as the first point of contact when equipment goes down.
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices, including planning, execution, and documentation.
