This role focuses on developing and maintaining production schedules that align customer demand with manufacturing capabilities, while optimizing capacity, inventory, and supply chain operations. The position requires strong analytical skills, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to balance competing production priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume food production environment.
Responsibilities- Create and manage daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production schedules that support customer demand and service objectives.
- Align production schedules with manufacturing capabilities to ensure efficient utilization of equipment, labor, and materials.
- Analyze production capacity and manufacturing constraints to maximize line efficiency and throughput.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to support operational goals and customer service requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to coordinate production activities.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel to develop production schedules, manage planning data, and support informed decision-making.
- Review forecasts, customer demand, and inventory requirements to develop accurate and timely production plans.
- Identify scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and capacity issues and implement proactive solutions to minimize disruption.
- Interpret production and inventory data to support both operational and strategic decision-making.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on production efficiency, inventory optimization, and process improvement.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration by clearly communicating production priorities and schedule changes to stakeholders.
- Support overall business objectives through effective planning, forecasting, and inventory management.
- Provide cross-functional support to manufacturing operations and related teams in high-speed production environments.
- Contribute to project initiatives by offering planning expertise and helping to implement process improvements.
Essential Skills- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning, Scheduling, Forecasting, or a closely related function.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage and analyze complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems used for production scheduling and planning.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing practical solutions.
- Ability to adapt to changing production demands and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in production scheduling and planning, including capacity and inventory planning.
- Ability to work effectively in manufacturing operations, including high-speed or high-volume production settings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, bakery operations, dairy manufacturing, ingredient manufacturing, packaging manufacturing, or other high-volume consumer packaged goods (CPG) environments.
- APICS / CPIM certification or progress toward certification.
- Experience with Advanced Planning Systems (APS).
- Project leadership experience, including leading or supporting planning-related initiatives.
- Operations or manufacturing floor experience with direct exposure to production processes.
- Experience utilizing business analytics and reporting tools to support planning and performance measurement.
- Background in continuous improvement and process optimization, particularly within production and supply chain functions.
- Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional teams and provide planning expertise across operations, supply chain, and customer service.
