This role involves traveling throughout Indiana and parts of Illinois and Ohio to install, maintain, calibrate, and service flow meters used in water and wastewater applications. You will work in and around manholes to install flow meters, connect and configure equipment using a computer, and ensure accurate data collection for municipalities and large industrial customers. The position combines mechanical and electrical work in both indoor and outdoor environments and requires regular regional travel and close collaboration with a senior team member.

• Travel throughout the state of Indiana and parts of Illinois and Ohio to install, maintain, calibrate, and service flow meters.
• Install flow meters inside the top portion of manholes in water and wastewater systems.
• Connect flow meters to computers and use software tools to troubleshoot, calibrate, and verify proper operation of installed equipment.
• Collect and verify flow data to ensure accurate measurement of the amount of flow passing through pipes and streams.
• Document data and system performance for use by municipalities and large industrial customers.
• Apply mechanical and electrical knowledge to safely install, configure, and maintain flow measurement equipment.
• Work both inside and outside, including in confined spaces such as manholes and in varying weather conditions.
• Drive several hours when needed to reach client locations and remain on-site until the assigned job is completed.
• Collaborate closely with a senior employee, communicate effectively, and coordinate tasks to complete work efficiently.
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working around water, wastewater, and related infrastructure.
• Adapt to and learn new technologies associated with flow meters and related diagnostic tools.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% of the time, including 1–2 overnight stays per week.
• Openness to and experience using new technology, including connecting a computer to flow meters for troubleshooting and calibration.
• Mechanical aptitude, with hands-on mechanical experience gained through school, internships, or previous positions.
• Electrical aptitude, with practical experience working on electrical components or systems from school, internships, or prior roles.
• Flexibility to work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions.
• Comfort working in environments where you may get dirty and may need to work while it is raining or snowing.
• Willingness to work inside manholes and similar infrastructure as required for flow meter installation.
• Ability to travel within a roughly three-hour radius from the central office region, including middle Illinois, Chicago, and middle Ohio.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with another employee, including a senior team member.
• Reliability in completing assigned jobs before returning home, even when days involve extended driving and fieldwork.

• Previous flow meter installation, calibration, or service experience.
• Experience working with wastewater systems or related environmental infrastructure.
• Background or coursework in environmental, mechanical, or electrical disciplines.
• Experience using diagnostic software or computer-based tools to troubleshoot field equipment.
• Prior experience in roles that required frequent travel or field service work.
