Job Description
The Project Manager oversees and manages construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. This role coordinates closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, with a strong focus on mechanical and commercial construction projects, particularly in HVAC, plumbing, or sheet metal services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously from planning through closeout.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to align project goals, schedules, and expectations.
- Plan, organize, and control project activities to ensure completion on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Oversee commercial construction projects, including those valued at $1 million or more.
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure financial performance aligns with project objectives.
- Direct and coordinate project teams, providing clear leadership, guidance, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and interpret project designs and specifications to ensure accurate execution in the field.
- Handle project coordination activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics.
- Prepare, review, and manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation, pricing, and client approvals.
- Monitor construction progress, identify risks or issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and performance.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support continuous improvement in project delivery processes.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture that supports networking, growth, and team success.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, preferably in HVAC, plumbing, or sheet metal services.
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $1 million or more.
- Experience successfully running three or more projects at the same time.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and close projects effectively.
- Construction management experience with a focus on mechanical and commercial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change orders and project coordination activities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate project teams.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
- Experience working on mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, or sheet metal in a commercial construction setting.
- Ability to interpret and work with project designs and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to project challenges.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining strong client relationships.

This role is based onsite in the Richmond office, working closely with internal teams and local project stakeholders.
