In this versatile contract opportunity, you'll facilitate communication and inclusivity across diverse school settings, impacting students' daily learning experiences. Collaborate with teachers and staff at both the elementary and high school level, ensuring each student’s academic and social success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
- Prior experience in educational or school-based settings is highly preferred
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload, supporting 1–2 students at a time and adapting to evolving needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working onsite or virtually for the right candidate
What You’ll Do:
- Interpret classroom instruction, group discussions, assemblies, and extracurricular activities for assigned students
- Foster understanding and participation for students in both academic and social contexts
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to meet individual student needs
- Prepare for and adapt to a variety of school environments and curricula
- Contribute insights to student planning meetings when relevant
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all school and district policies
