IMMEDIATELY HIRING ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIANS BASED IN LEXINGTON, NCPAY $20-28 PER HOUR (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS)
The Ideal Environmental Technician performs hands-on environmental cleanup and hazardous material removal at federal, commercial, and industrial sites. This role focuses on safely extracting lead and other hazardous substances, decontaminating facilities, and supporting remediation and emergency response projects in strict accordance with safety regulations and established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental cleanup and remediation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at federal, commercial, and industrial locations.
- Assist with the containment, removal, and proper disposal of contaminated soil, liquids, sludge, debris, and industrial waste.
- Clean and decontaminate manufacturing facilities, warehouses, plants, refineries, power plants, and other industrial sites.
- Support emergency spill response activities involving chemicals, fuels, solvents, and other hazardous substances.
- Participate in hazardous waste cleanup, spill response, demolition support, tank cleanouts, confined space work, and environmental restoration projects.
- Conduct industrial cleaning using pressure washers, vacuum trucks, pumps, and other specialized remediation equipment.
- Handle hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA, HAZWOPER, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Assist with asbestos, lead, mold, and other regulated material abatement projects when properly trained and certified.
- Follow all company procedures and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and prevent incidents.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection as required for each task.
- Perform physically demanding field work, including frequent standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
- Drive to assigned work sites using a personal vehicle and report promptly for scheduled and emergency response assignments.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities and ensure efficient project execution.
- Document work performed as required, including basic reporting related to cleanup, waste removal, and site conditions.
Essential Skills
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification is required.
- 2–5 years of experience as an environmental technician or in closely related environmental remediation work.
- Experience handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste in industrial or construction environments.
- Experience in environmental remediation, hazardous waste operations, industrial cleaning, construction, demolition, or emergency response.
- Ability to perform physically demanding field work, including frequent standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and working in varied weather conditions.
- Strong safety focus and commitment to following all regulatory and company safety procedures.
- Ability to work in confined spaces in accordance with safety protocols.
- Capability to work in noisy, dusty, and chemically exposed environments while using appropriate protective equipment.
- Reliable transportation and ability to drive own vehicle to job sites.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to operate cleaning and remediation equipment such as pressure washers, pumps, and vacuum systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Lead Awareness training is preferred.
- Confined Space Entry Certification is preferred.
- Respiratory Protection Training is preferred.
- Experience with forklift, skid steer, or other heavy equipment is beneficial.
- Experience supporting demolition projects and tank cleanouts is an advantage.
- Prior exposure to industrial facilities such as chemical plants, refineries, power plants, and manufacturing plants is helpful.
- Ability to participate in emergency response work on short notice.
- Comfort working with regulated materials such as asbestos, lead, and mold when properly trained and certified.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
