Job Title: BuyerJob DescriptionThis Buyer role supports a specialized manufacturing and engineering organization that works with flexible printed circuit boards and components used in aerospace, medical devices, and other advanced industries. You will source, negotiate, and purchase materials, supplies, and services that directly support production and operational goals. The position requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful professional who can identify cost-saving opportunities, maintain strong supplier relationships, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Source and procure materials, components, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies, specifications, and quality standards.
- Evaluate and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to ensure best overall value and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the ERP or purchasing system.
- Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness, and take action to resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments such as engineering, production, and quality to understand material requirements, lead times, and production schedules.
- Track, analyze, and report on key purchasing metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory-related indicators.
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and qualifying new suppliers to support capacity, quality, and cost objectives.
- Support inventory control goals by helping maintain appropriate stock levels and reducing the risk of shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulatory or quality standards, including ISO 9001 or similar frameworks.
- Perform other purchasing and sourcing duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Purchasing Team.
Essential Skills- At least 2 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing or similarly complex environment.
- Hands-on experience working with an ERP or other complex purchasing system.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and openness to working in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic buying decisions based on cost, quality, and delivery considerations.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards is preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- CPM or CPSM certification is a plus.
- Experience working with international suppliers and import/export processes is beneficial.
- Technical understanding of raw materials, components, or industrial supplies is advantageous.
- Experience in environments supporting aerospace, medical device, or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time, onsite position working Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a lunch break included. During busier periods, you may occasionally start around 7:00 a.m. and leave earlier, depending on workload and business needs. The role is based on a large multi-building campus. The Buyer sits in the second building in a dedicated cubicle area alongside approximately three other buyers, with customer service and accounting teams located in the same building. The team of buyers is close-knit, experienced, and self-sufficient, and they collaborate regularly with a purchasing supervisor. The campus includes break rooms and designated areas for taking lunch and informal breaks. The organization combines the stability of a larger company with a close, family-oriented culture where long employee tenure is common and employees are valued for their contributions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $42.00/hr.
