Job Title: Project Manager – Facilities / Non-IT (5–7 Years Experience)Job DescriptionThis role oversees end-to-end facilities and property management projects in a non-IT environment, ensuring they are planned, executed, and delivered on time and within scope. The Project Manager coordinates technical and operational activities, partners closely with cross-functional teams, and drives projects with minimal supervision. This position offers a standard weekday schedule and the potential to convert to a full-time role.
Responsibilities- Lead facilities and property management projects from initiation through completion with minimal supervision.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource needs, and budgets to achieve defined goals.
- Direct and coordinate technical and operational activities across engineering, research and development, financial systems, product rollouts, and other non-IT project areas.
- Present and explain project proposals, reports, and findings to stakeholders, ensuring they clearly understand scope, progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Recruit project team members as needed, assign work, provide direction, and evaluate performance to maintain a high level of staff competence.
- Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of staff capabilities to support project objectives and operational excellence.
- Analyze technology and resource needs, as well as market demand, to assess project feasibility and make informed recommendations.
- Collaborate with management, production, and marketing teams to define project specifications, procedures, and priorities.
- Review, recommend, or approve project-related contracts and cost estimates to ensure alignment with budget and organizational standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify issues or risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
- Ensure quality control practices are followed throughout project execution to maximize the effective delivery of facilities and property management services.
Essential Skills- 5–7 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on facilities and property management.
- Proven ability to manage projects end to end with minimal supervision, from planning through execution and closeout.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present proposals, reports, and findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Understanding of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
- Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Visio.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience managing facilities and property management projects in a non-IT context.
- PMI or PMP certification preferred.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams that include management, production, and marketing stakeholders.
- Background in analyzing market demand and technology needs to support feasibility assessments.
- Comfort working with contracts and cost estimates, including reviewing and recommending approvals.
Work EnvironmentThis role is based in Rochester, NY, in a facilities and property management setting. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The environment involves close collaboration with management, production, and marketing teams and regular use of productivity and project management tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio. The position offers the possibility of conversion to a full-time role, providing a stable, professional environment focused on structured project delivery and cross-functional teamwork.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Rochester, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $54.00 - $58.00/hr.
