Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Special Education (IL SPED) teaching license required
• Experience working in a self-contained or substantially separate special education setting preferred
• Strong ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and data-driven instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals and general education staff
• A nurturing approach, patience, and creativity in adapting curriculum and strategies

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate instruction for students in core academic subjects within the self-contained classroom
• Provide accommodations and modifications tailored to individual students’ abilities and goals
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to support student success and foster an inclusive environment
• Monitor student progress, documenting growth and targeting supports as needed
• Communicate effectively with families and staff regarding student programs and achievements
