In this ELL teaching position, you’ll play a vital role in helping K-4 students build language proficiency and confidence, with occasional support for older grades if needed. This role is .50 FTE, with a preferred schedule of shortened days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, providing a healthy work-life balance while focusing your expertise on targeted instruction.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification; background in K-12 general education, English, or ELL preferred
- Previous experience supporting ELL or multilingual learners
- Strong communication skills with a talent for adapting instruction to diverse learners
- Collaborative approach; comfortable teaming with other educators and support staff
- Enthusiasm for fostering an inclusive and welcoming classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging English language instruction, primarily for K-4 learners
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the unique needs of English Language Learners
- Assess and monitor student progress, implementing interventions as needed
- Provide occasional support for students in grades 5-12
- Foster a supportive atmosphere that helps every student thrive academically and linguistically
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to celebrate milestones and share progress
