What you’ll need to bring:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure/certification as required for school-based SLP roles
- Previous experience serving children or adolescents in academic settings strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of IEP processes, speech and language assessment, and intervention strategies
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive educational atmosphere
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language assessments and contributing to eligibility determinations
- Developing individualized treatment plans aligned with students’ unique needs and IEP goals
- Delivering targeted therapy sessions, both individually and in small groups
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to monitor student progress and adapt interventions as needed
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements
- Participating in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
- Promoting student participation, communication skills, and confidence in classroom settings
