Function:
Services for the Underserved (S:US) is a New York–based nonprofit that provides social services and support to vulnerable populations, including people with disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, veterans, and those facing behavioral health challenges. The organization focuses on helping individuals achieve stability and independence through affordable housing, mental health services, job training, and community-based programs, with an emphasis on promoting dignity, recovery, and inclusion.
The Leave Coordinator works in the Human Resources department and manages employee time-off and leave cases from start to finish. The team noted that there are high volume leave cases that come in week over week so really need someone here that has experience managing leave cases in a high volume setting (65 cases/biweekly).
In this role they will be a part of a 4 person team handling the requests and will report to Veronica, the manager of leave administration.
Schedule:
9:00AM-5:00PM
Monday-Friday
5 days on-site with potential for hybrid down the line
Interview Process:
2 round virtual interview process with Neetu & Veronica.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact for staff who need time off.
Manage high volume of leave cases and tracking leave cases (especially medical leaves)
Review information and determine what type of leave applies
coordinate with insurance carriers or benefits providers
Process forms and submit documentation
Make sure ADA and FMLA records are compliant.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field
1-3 years of leave administration experience coming from Non-Profit or related field preferred.
MS office experience required.
