In this rewarding role, you will work closely with a caseload of 12 direct students and manage two consults, delivering a total of 690 service minutes per week. This position requires teaching Braille and adapting curriculum materials to facilitate access for all learners.

Your presence on-site is essential for collaboration with staff, students, and families, providing hands-on support that drives real progress. The assignment runs from early October through June 1, offering stability throughout the academic year, with 35 hours per week.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid FL DOE Teacher for Visually Impaired certification required
• Previous experience teaching Braille to students with visual impairments strongly preferred
• Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials for visually impaired students
• Experience consulting with teachers and staff to support student success
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Must meet time-sensitive district fingerprinting requirements (prints may be transferable from AHCA Clearinghouse, if applicable)
• Flexibility to travel within the district, supporting multiple campuses

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments across a range of age groups and educational needs
• Develop, adapt, and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Teach Braille and specialized techniques for accessible learning
• Serve as a consultant to general educators and other school staff
