Key Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate with a VI (Visual Impairment) Endorsement
• Proven experience teaching students who are blind or visually impaired in school settings
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to travel to multiple school locations as an itinerant educator

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, both individually and in groups
• Assess student needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Provide consultative support and training to classroom teachers and staff
• Promote the use of assistive technology and adaptive materials
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with district guidelines
• Collaborate with families, service providers, and educational teams to ensure comprehensive support
