Position: Manufacturing Launch Engineer
Duration: 1 year minimum + extensions - long term contract
Location: Arlington, TX
Duration: Long-term contract with opportunity for direct hire
Compensation: $32-40/hr+

Must‐Have Qualifications
- 5 years manufacturing/engineering, 2 years launch experience - preferably in automotive industry
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing assembly setting
- Background brining in new tooling and equipment for a launch and getting lines changed over/set up for new product launches
- Experience overseeing equipment installations
- Flexibility with changing work hours and environment as required to meet project timeline and support plant operating schedule
- Availability to weekends and Holidays as required
Key Responsibilities
Develop & Execute manufacturing processes at General Assembly; designing Automation, equipment/tooling, Integration of equipment, install into the plant, and manage to steady state. Requirements would include effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for a flawless execution. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering facility as well as assembly plant with an elevated level of independent judgment.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Leading all new programs, model changes and current production in a specific area.
- Defining all areas of change, which include product and manufacturing requirements (Automation, equipment, tooling, workstation setup, facility, etc.)
- Lead OEM and installations contractors to execute the above changes from conception to production.
- Managing day-to-day activities of a OEM.

- Efficient material flow understanding for future material movement
- Develop interfaces, and work with cross functional teams to develop / define Automations, equipment and common tooling and process across whole department and other groups
- Develop automation, equipment and tooling SORs
- Develop equipment delivery and installation phase in plans
- Provide technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
- Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality parts.
- Support build events at the plant
- Address launch issues
- Work will involve some weekends and travel which may be extensive at times in addition to potential off shift timeframes
- Participating in Program financials and provide spending forecasts
- Lead Safety Observation Tours
- Lead weekly Zone Integration Planning meetings (Identify Install Requirements, Phasing, Pull-Ahead Plans, Conveyance Interface, etc.)
- Ensure timely completion of all ME deliverables to support a flawless launch and achieve launch team release
