Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the daily operations of a manufacturing maintenance department. This individual will oversee maintenance personnel while ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment. The role is responsible for preventive maintenance planning, work order management, inventory control, vendor coordination, purchasing, and equipment reliability.
The ideal candidate is a hands on maintenance leader with experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment who is passionate about driving equipment uptime, improving processes, and developing maintenance teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance OperationsSupervise and support maintenance technicians in daily operations.
Review, prioritize, and assign maintenance work orders.
Develop detailed maintenance plans and job procedures.
Estimate labor hours, project duration, and required skill sets.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Ensure all completed work orders are accurately documented and closed.
Maintain equipment records and maintenance documentation.
Keep equipment bills of materials current and accurate.
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and Lockout Tagout procedures.
Identify workplace hazards and incorporate safety requirements into maintenance planning.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety.
Manage maintenance parts inventory and purchasing activities.
Track purchase orders and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare purchase requisitions and coordinate special inventory counts as needed.
Investigate equipment failures and production downtime.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement efforts to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Participate in maintenance shutdown planning and major repair projects.
Coordinate work performed by outside contractors and service providers.
Communicate project expectations and monitor contractor performance.
Collaborate closely with production and operations leadership to prioritize maintenance activities.
Lead, mentor, and motivate maintenance personnel while promoting accountability and teamwork.
Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or similar leadership role.
Experience planning and scheduling industrial maintenance activities.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and industrial equipment systems.
Experience using CMMS software.
Inventory management and purchasing experience.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical, vocational, or college education in a related field.
Certified Maintenance Manager certification.
Experience with inventory management, purchasing, and Microsoft Office applications.
Food manufacturing or other high volume manufacturing experience.
