Job Summary:
We are seeking a Chief Inspector to support the MRO Quality Manager in overseeing daily quality operations within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. This role is responsible for ensuring electrical, mechanical, and electronic component repairs meet FAA, customer, and company requirements through inspection, compliance oversight, documentation review, and continuous improvement activities. The Chief Inspector works closely with technicians and quality personnel to maintain regulatory compliance, support audits, and promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Support and provide guidance to the Final Inspection (RTS) team while assisting the MRO Quality Manager with daily quality operations.
- Perform and review incoming, in-process, and final inspections of repaired components.
- Review work orders, maintenance records, and return-to-service documentation, including FAA Form 8130-3.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with current technical data, repair manuals, and FAA regulations.
- Maintain and control technical publications and ensure proper use throughout the facility.
- Support internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor calibration and control of inspection tools, equipment, and test devices.
- Maintain training records, employee qualifications, and procedural documentation.
- Work with technicians to resolve discrepancies and support quality-related troubleshooting.
- Monitor compliance with Repair Station and Quality Control Manual requirements.
- Support FAA, customer, and internal audits and serve as a delegate for the MRO Quality Manager when required.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Current A&P License or ability to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate within 45 days.
- Minimum 3 years of inspection experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or similar MRO environment.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including FAR Parts 43, 65, and 145.
- Experience inspecting electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Ability to read and interpret CMMs, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and test procedures.
- Experience reviewing maintenance records, work orders, and return-to-service documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRO systems.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide inspection personnel and work effectively across departments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and regulatory compliance skills.
- Ability to work independently while taking direction from the MRO Quality Manager in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with EASA, CAAC, or other international aviation regulations.
- Previous experience in Quality Assurance or Regulatory Compliance.
- Knowledge of AS9110, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems.
Work Environment:
- Office and shop environment.
- Approximately 50% stationary / 50% mobile.
- May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety standards.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
