Job Title: Hardware Validation Engineer
Job Description
The Hardware Validation Engineer plays a key role on the hardware validation team, focusing on the testing and validation of analog, digital, and embedded subsystems for complex products. This position requires strong validation experience and close collaboration with design and integration teams to ensure that hardware designs meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive test and validation activities for analog, digital, and embedded hardware subsystems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Collaborate closely with design and integration teams to understand hardware architectures and develop effective validation strategies.
- Develop detailed requirements, verification plans, test cases, and test procedures for product design verification.
- Execute verification plans and test procedures for board-level designs used in aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics applications.
- Conduct hardware verification and validation for power supplies, electric motors, high-speed interfaces, RF circuits, and other complex hardware components.
- Perform analog circuit testing to validate performance, stability, and compliance with design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and debug printed circuit boards (PCBs), identifying root causes of issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare hardware for testing, including hands-on soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components.
- Analyze board-level electrical circuits to verify design intent and support design improvements.
- Document test results, issues, and resolutions clearly and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical leadership within the validation team and contribute to continuous improvement of validation processes.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating across disciplines to drive successful product validation.
Essential Skills
- Strong, hands-on validation experience with complex hardware systems.
- Hardware verification experience, including board-level design verification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in board-level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products.
- Experience developing requirements, verification plans, and test procedures for product design verification.
- Proven ability to develop and execute verification plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure proper functioning of hardware designs.
- Excellent board-level electrical circuit troubleshooting and debug skills.
- Strong hands-on soldering skills with both through-hole and surface-mount components for hardware preparation and rework.
- Experience with PCB design, testing, troubleshooting, and validation.
- Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, FPGAs, and power supplies.
- Experience with electric motors, high-speed interfaces, and RF hardware.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities within technical or project environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate across disciplines.

- Experience developing and refining product design verification processes over long-term, open-ended projects.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
