We're seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our growing team and play a critical role in delivering accurate survey data, mapping, and construction support for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects.
In this role, you'll combine your expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, survey computations, and boundary/topographic mapping to support both office and field operations. You'll work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers to transform field data into precise, actionable deliverables that drive successful projects from concept through construction.

What You'll Do
As a Survey CAD Technician, you will:
- Perform survey computations, easement calculations, and construction staking computations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Process, organize, and analyze field survey data to create accurate CAD deliverables.
- Prepare survey data packages and coordinate information for field crews.
- Develop topographic surveys, boundary surveys, subdivision maps, parcel maps, and other survey-related drawings.
- Utilize coordinate systems for search, layout, and construction staking activities.
- Conduct deed, map, and record research to support survey and mapping projects.
- Develop and refine horizontal and vertical alignments for survey and construction projects.
- Prepare accurate metes and bounds descriptions and supporting survey calculations.
- Maintain detailed field notes and complete survey documentation.
- Collaborate closely with survey crews, engineers, and project teams to support project planning and execution.
- Perform occasional courthouse research to obtain survey records and documentation.
- Travel within the region as necessary to support project and field activities.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing CAD within land surveying environments.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience processing field survey data and producing high-quality CAD deliverables.
- Exp. preparing topographic and boundary surveys.
- Experience with construction staking and survey computations.
- Knowledge of coordinate systems and survey principles.
- Ability to create accurate metes and bounds descriptions.
- Strong understanding of land surveying practices and documentation standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass required Exp. screening and drug testing requirements.
- Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within civil engineering and land development projects.
- Familiarity with courthouse research, deeds, plats, and survey records.
- Experience developing horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Desire to continue growing within surveying, drafting, or civil engineering.
- Interest in contributing to process improvements and team success.
Work Environment
- This position is primarily office-based and focused on CAD drafting, survey calculations, data processing, and project support using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related surveying tools. After completing training and demonstrating proficiency, employees may have the opportunity to transition into a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
