Step into a vital role as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, supporting students across multiple sites within a dynamic school district. This contract position is for the 2025/2026 school year, beginning with a training week in late August before students start in early September. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of specialists and administrators to develop and implement positive interventions for students, helping shape a supportive learning atmosphere across 3-4 assigned locations.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or licensed Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 license required for teachers)
- Demonstrated experience conducting functional behavior assessments
- Ability to collaborate with staff and adapt approaches based on student needs
- Comfortable supporting multiple school sites and adjusting to varying environments
- Effective communicator with teams, administrators, and families
- RBT certification does not meet requirements for this position
Primary Responsibilities
- Consult and implement positive behavior interventions and supports for students
- Foster a positive and productive work and learning environment
- Reinforce positive behaviors and utilize de-escalation and redirection techniques
- Provide expertise and training for staff on behavioral recommendations
- May use restrictive procedures as appropriate and necessary
- Support development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) in line with district, state, and federal requirements
- Maintain the safety of students and environments at all times
- Analyze data to inform decision-making and tailor programming for student success
- Remain flexible and calm, especially when responding to crises
