Make a meaningful impact this school year by providing essential sign language interpreting services to students in an educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity offers flexibility for onsite or virtual work (for the right candidate), and is based near Oneida, WI. You'll support students at two school sites by interpreting throughout the school day in a variety of classroom and school environments.
As a member of the team, you will ensure effective communication and inclusion, working closely with both students and staff to foster a supportive educational experience. This assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 3, 2027, providing a rewarding, long-term role supporting student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter required
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret in both 1:1 and small group settings
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Comfortable working with students across elementary and high school grades
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Tech-savvy and adaptable for potential virtual assignments
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality interpreting services for students throughout the school day
- Foster an inclusive classroom experience by facilitating communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Adjust interpreting methods as needed based on individual student needs
- Collaborate with educational staff to support academic success
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions
