Job Title: Machine Operator – B ShiftJob DescriptionThis role is a hands-on machine operator position on the B day shift, responsible for safely operating production equipment, minimizing scrap, and ensuring consistent output of high-quality bottles. You will monitor machine performance, support product changeovers, perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting, and work closely with other team members to keep the production line running smoothly.
Responsibilities- Operate assigned production machines on the B day shift to consistently produce high-quality bottles.
- Minimize scrap on each machine by monitoring performance and making timely adjustments.
- Verify correct color concentration for each production run and ensure materials meet specifications.
- Prepare for product changeovers and monitor the changeover process to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Verify line clearances during changeovers to ensure the line is free of incorrect or mixed product.
- Compare actual machine cycle times to established standards and take action when deviations occur.
- Pack bottles as needed to support packers during breaks and lunches, maintaining production flow.
- Verify proper operation of downstream equipment to prevent bottlenecks and quality issues.
- Confirm that good quality bottles are produced at restarts after downtime or changeovers.
- Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance on assigned equipment according to guidelines.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs to reduce downtime.
- Complete machine production line reports accurately and on time.
- Identify and respond appropriately to various machine sounds, alarms, and warning signals.
- Assist the material operator with responsibilities as needed to support overall production.
Essential Skills- Experience as a machine operator or in general production within a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with production machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and apply critical thinking to resolve problems.
- Strong attention to detail when monitoring color concentration, cycle times, and product quality.
- Comfort working with production reports and documenting machine and line performance.
- Ability to recognize and respond to machine sounds, alarms, and other warning indicators.
- Willingness to perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Prior manufacturing or machine operating experience is preferred.
- Mechanically inclined with interest in learning more about machine operation and maintenance.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a manufacturing facility operating on two main 12-hour shift rotations: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (A and B shifts) and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (C and D shifts), with a schedule that results in working approximately 15 days per month. Additional details on temperature and cleanliness will be provided following a facility tour to ensure a clear understanding of the production environment. Attendance expectations are clearly defined, with automatic termination for no-call, no-show incidents and a limit of two call-ins allowed per month, reflecting the importance of reliability in maintaining continuous operations.
