These contract roles offer the chance to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development in a vibrant educational setting. This position is full-time (35 hours per week), beginning as soon as possible and continuing through May 26, 2027.

What We’re Seeking:

• Master's degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution
• Active and valid School Counselor Certificate
• At least three years of successful teaching experience (preferred but not required)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and administrators

Role Overview:

• Serve as the School Counselor for either LaPlace Elementary or Garyville Elementary
• Provide academic, personal, and social guidance to students
• Develop and implement counseling programs and interventions
• Assist with crisis management and conflict resolution
• Support students with individualized education and behavioral plans
• Communicate regularly with teachers, families, and staff on student progress
• Help create a positive school culture and safe learning environment
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all ethical and legal guidelines
