A contract opportunity is available for a skilled physical therapist to support students near Aurora, IL. This short-term assignment (August 17 to November 4) offers an engaging and collaborative environment, serving mixed grade levels with a focus on transition-aged students (20–22-year-olds). You’ll play a crucial part in providing physical therapy services for students receiving special education support, fostering their growth in school and community settings.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Physical Therapy licensure
• Demonstrated experience working in pediatric and school-based settings
• Strong knowledge of gross motor skill development and adaptive strategies
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, ideally with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to promoting student independence and participation
• Flexible and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks

Position Responsibilities:

• Deliver educationally relevant physical therapy interventions to support students’ IEP goals
• Collaborate with educators and other specialists to tailor services to individual student needs
• Assess, document, and report student progress toward therapeutic milestones
• Provide recommendations for adaptive equipment or environmental modifications
• Serve as a resource for staff and families, sharing expertise on motor development and access
• Manage a caseload of mixed grade levels, including an emphasis on students transitioning to adulthood
